This isn't a policy promise buried in a privacy page — it's how the app is built. There's no signup screen because there's no account system behind it.
Why this is genuinely rare, not just a nice claim
Every well-known time tracker we actually tried while building this — including ones built specifically for solo professionals — still asks for an account before you can log a single hour, and stores your data on their servers from that point on. That's not a knock on them; it's just how most software gets built by default, account-first. This one was built differently — there's no account system underneath it, so there's nothing to sign into before you start.
Who this fits
Professionals who'd rather not hand another company their client names and project details just to track hours — and who don't want to think about a login every time they open a timer.
The trade-off, stated plainly
Because your data lives on this device, it doesn't automatically follow you to another device today. You can move it yourself with export/import, but there's no background sync. That's the disadvantage of keeping things local-first, not something we're hiding - and it's something we'd expand on if enough people want it.

Do I need to create an account?
No. There's no signup and no login for the app.
Is my data sent to a server anywhere?
No — not by the app. Your clients, projects, and time entries are all stored locally on your device. Make sure to do backups regularly and save them where you choose to.
Can I use this on more than one device?
You can, but each device would have its own data storage; if you want to use the same data, export it from one device and import it on another. Automatic multi-device sync isn't built yet. If you want it, let us know through the feedback link in the app.
What happens if I clear my browser data or switch browsers?
Your data lives in this browser's storage, on this device — switching browsers or setting up a new computer doesn't delete anything, the new one just starts its own separate, empty database; your old data stays exactly where it was, untouched. What does erase it: clearing that browser's site data directly, or getting rid of the device itself.
